Take a Blood Sample from your Presses

The easiest way to ensure that your presses function year after year without problem is to give them a yearly inspection. Why not start with an oil trend analysis?

Having AP&T perform an annual oil trend analysis on your presses is roughly the same thing as a physician taking a blood sample from patients. The aim is to check that everything is as it should be and discover potential problems in time.

"If the hydraulic oil contains lots of particles, it might mean that a gasket is starting to give out, and if we find metal shavings, a cylinder might be about to break. Taking care of the problem in time prevents unnecessary stoppages, and ensures a high degree of accessibility," says Per Carlsson, Spare Part Specialist at AP&T.

A Clean Hydraulic System Extends the Lifetime
Another piece of general advice is to keep the hydraulic system clean by changing filters on a regular basis; doing so extends the life of the presses' valves, pumps and other vital parts.

"We can produce an individual maintenance contract that is tailored to each customer's special needs. And we not only service presses from AP&T, we service all hydraulic machinery, no matter the brand," says Per Carlsson.

How is your machine doing? An oil trend analysis prevents breakdowns and contributes to a high degree of accessibility.
