New service department for press tooling

The easiest way to avoid unanticipated production shutdowns is to take care of and service your production equipment – particularly press tooling. For this reason, AP&T has established a special service department for tooling.

“We can provide support when commissioning new products in new tooling, with on-site trimming and start-up support. We can also train operators and our customers’ own service personnel,” says Staffan Lindh, who serves as manager of the new department at AP&T.

Naturally, the department also services and repairs press tooling. Planned service increases the service life of the tooling and thereby reduces the risk of costly, unanticipated production shutdowns. This results in greater reliability in production with a higher degree of delivery reliability.

When times are tough, it can be tempting to cut back on servicing to reduce costs for the company. But, that can prove expensive in the end when poorly-maintained tooling breaks down.
“Even though maintenance costs money, it is an investment that is profitable in the long run,” states Staffan Lindh.
