More effective production with automation – Nissan building the cars of the future with automation from AP&T

“The gateway to a brave new electric world.” This is how the 100% electric Nissan LEAF was described when it won the 2011 World Car of the Year award. Thus far the car model has only been manufactured in Japan, but production will also commence at Nissan’s plant in Sunderland, UK this spring. Aluminum hot forming – SAPA makes the impossible possible with equipment from AP&T

Just over a year ago, SAPA's research and development center in Finspång, Sweden announced that a method was being developed for aluminum hot forming using equipment from AP&T. The information was cloaked in secrecy and no details were revealed. Now, however, the door to hot gas forming – a technology that makes the impossible possible – has now been slightly opened.
