The forty-second International Deep Drawing Research Group (IDDRG) conference held in Luleå, Sweden on June 19–22 will cover a wide range of topics – from sustainable materials to lightweight structures and advanced forming.
One of the conference's plenary speakers is Jan Larsson, press hardening expert and business development manager for aftermarket services at AP&T. He will look into the future of press hardening and discuss how this technology can be used to meet some of the major challenges the automotive industry is facing.
AP&T will also be represented by Dr. Michael Machhammer who will present the results from an ongoing research project in which AP&T, RISE, FiberCheck GmbH and Havel metal foam GmbH are collaborating to develop an SMC-aluminum battery tray for electric cars thereby enabling integration of multiple functions, lightweight design and high crashworthiness.
