AP&T has received an order for a new, fully automatic press line for NKC Sweden’s production facility in Gothenburg. The line will be used to manufacture various types of blanks for spherical bearing housings. With press forces of up to 1,400 tons, the new line will enable manufacturing of larger parts in several dimensions while also contributing to more efficient production and increased production capacity. Installation and commissioning are scheduled for mid 2025.
“At AP&T, we are thoroughly pleased to have received NKC Sweden’s trust as they invest in their future production. Thanks to our many years of collaboration, we understand the customer’s needs and prerequisites, which has enabled us to develop a solution optimized for their Gothenburg facility,” says Per Lindgren, Key Account Manager at AP&T.
AP&T’s fully integrated solution, including blank feeders, a 1,400 ton hydraulic press, three-axis SpeedFeeders, a control system and conveyor belt, is the first step in a larger production line. After forming, the blanks are unloaded and buffered for the next step in the manufacturing chain.
Higher productivity and increased capacity
“The new line will not only help us increase our productivity but also ensure high product quality and capacity for future deliveries,” says Fredrik Tallroth, Project Manager at NKC.
The work of the operators is also made easier. Partly because a number of manual steps disappear, partly because the new line contributes to increased machine standardization.
Long relationship
The relationship between the companies stretches back several decades. As One Responsible Partner®, AP&T has installed and integrated machines and line solutions through the years which have been continuously upgraded and maintained to maximize availability and performance during their lifetime.
“AP&T has long been a supplier of ours and we have great confidence in their ability to deliver needs-based machine and service agreement solutions, so we are looking forward to the new line being in place next summer,” says Tallroth.
