Polish roofing manufacturer Budmat has ordered its second press line from AP&T, continuing a long-term partnership focused on production development, innovation and quality. This time, it is a servo press and transfer line from AP&T's new UniLines concept, which brings together the company's full range of sheet metal forming expertise in a modular, freely configurable system. The new investment is part of Budmat’s ongoing expansion and increasing demand for advanced roofing and steel construction solutions.
Budmat is one of Poland's leading manufacturers of modular steel roofing products and, more recently, steel support structures for photovoltaic farms. Over recent years the company has consistently expanded its production capabilities, product portfolio and technological infrastructure to support further growth and respond to changing market needs. With that growth comes new demands – more advanced component designs, more operations per part, and a greater need for flexibility in what a single line can produce.
The new line will be built around a 400-tonne servo press with a larger press table that allows for a flexible number of stations. That makes room for the kind of complex, multi-operation parts that Budmat’s expanding product portfolio requires. The servohydraulic press technology also brings improved energy efficiency and process control compared to conventional solutions, supporting Budmat’s long-term strategy focused on modern manufacturing standards and sustainable development. An integrated die-change system enables fast and efficient changeovers between products. Thanks to its flexible configuration and advanced process control, the system will allow Budmat to manufacture increasingly complex components while maintaining high production efficiency and consistent product quality.
For Budmat, the new line will handle current roofing production and also serve as a flexible platform for future product development. That versatility is made possible by the UniLines concept, where standardized building blocks such as presses, automation, tooling, die-change systems and control systems can be combined freely to match each manufacturer's specific needs.
